Legal Professional for Civil Litigation Support

Overview:

We are seeking a qualified legal professional to assist with critical aspects of an ongoing civil suit involving fair housing and civil rights violations. This role requires expertise in civil litigation, particularly in amending complaints, civil procedure, and discovery. Familiarity with Colorado law is highly desirable, though we are open to candidates willing to perform the necessary legal research to master the relevant statutes and precedents.
Responsibilities:

    Amending Complaint:
        Review existing complaint and supporting documentation.
        Draft amendments to strengthen claims in accordance with procedural rules and legal standards.

    Civil Procedure:
        Ensure all filings comply with Colorado civil procedure requirements.
        Draft and prepare motions as necessary.

    Discovery Support:
        Develop and draft discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
        Review and analyze discovery responses for accuracy and completeness.
        Assist in preparing responses to opposing counsel’s discovery requests.

    Legal Research:
        Conduct research on Colorado fair housing and civil rights law to ensure all legal arguments are robust and substantiated.
        Stay updated on applicable statutes, case law, and local rules.

    Collaboration:
        Work closely with the client to understand the case details and strategize effectively.
        Maintain excellent communication to ensure accurate and timely filings.

Qualifications:

    Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in civil litigation, with specific experience in fair housing or civil rights cases preferred.
    Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal terminology, civil procedure, and discovery practices. Familiarity with Colorado law is a plus.
    Skills:
        Excellent research and writing skills.
        High attention to detail and organizational ability.
        Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
    Tools: Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
