Web Developer/Designer for News Media Site
Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled web developer/designer to transform our current Shopify blog into a comprehensive news media website. The candidate should be proficient in developing and designing high-traffic websites, with the ability to implement features for content management, ad integration, and a seamless user interface that supports a large reader base.
Key Responsibilities:

Redesign the existing Shopify blog to function as a news media site.
Develop features for article posting, content management, and user engagement.
Integrate advertising platforms for monetization.
Ensure the site is optimized for SEO and mobile responsiveness.
Implement analytics to track user behavior and site performance.
Skills and Qualifications:

Strong experience in web development and design, preferably with examples of past work on news sites or content-heavy platforms.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (if Shopify's Liquid template language isn't sufficient for the desired custom functionalities).
Experience with CMS (Content Management System) beyond Shopify, such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal, if migrating off Shopify is considered.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools.
Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
Familiarity with ad integration techniques and platforms (e.g., Google AdSense, affiliate marketing).
Ability to incorporate analytics tools (like Google Analytics).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Additional Considerations:

Experience with eCommerce platforms, particularly Shopify, if the site will still incorporate elements of eCommerce.
Background in news media or digital journalism could be beneficial.
Understanding of user experience (UX) design to enhance readability and user engagement.
