Job Description:
We are a software development agency seeking an experienced Project Management Workflow and Tooling Consultant to enhance our operations across multiple project types, including Agile sprints, fixed-price/fixed-bid Waterfall projects, and Kanban for maintenance/support. Our goal is to streamline how product ideas move from conception to client approval while optimizing our tooling and methodologies to improve efficiency and team collaboration.

You will lead an in-depth evaluation of our current tools—Azure DevOps and Jira with Confluence—while establishing best practices tailored to our workflows. You’ll also design a unified process for product lifecycle management and provide team training for long-term adoption.
Responsibilities
Tooling Evaluation and Configuration

    Conduct a detailed comparison of Azure DevOps and Jira with Confluence to determine the best fit for our needs.
    Configure and optimize the selected tool for Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall workflows.
    Ensure seamless integration with other systems where applicable.

Workflow Optimization

    Develop clear guidelines for:
        Managing Agile sprints effectively in a client services environment.
        Executing fixed-price/fixed-bid projects with Waterfall methodologies.
        Handling ad-hoc priorities in Kanban-based maintenance and support workflows.
    Design and document a streamlined product lifecycle management process, from idea conception to requirements, estimation, and implementation.

Team Enablement and Training

    Provide hands-on training sessions and materials to ensure team adoption of new workflows and tools.
    Offer ongoing support during the transition to ensure a smooth implementation.

Process Documentation

    Deliver comprehensive documentation for all workflows, including Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban methodologies.
    Provide templates and standardized processes for product lifecycle management and project execution.

Requirements
Tooling Expertise

    Advanced knowledge and experience in Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence, including customization and integration.
    Proven ability to tailor tools to support varied project management methodologies.

Agile and Project Management Expertise

    Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies in a client services environment.
    Demonstrated success in managing multiple project types (fixed-price, retainer, and time/materials).
    Experience in creating and implementing sprint plans and handling client visibility.

Process Optimization

    Proven track record in replacing fragmented systems (e.g., Google Docs, manual processes) with streamlined, integrated workflows.
    Expertise in product lifecycle management, from ideation to client approval.

Consulting and Communication Skills

    Strong communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    Ability to train teams and drive adoption of new tools and workflows effectively.
