Herbal Goodness, a leading company in the health and wellness industry, is seeking a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Tax Advisor to assist with our tax preparation and filing needs. This freelance position involves comprehensive tax planning, preparation, and filing to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

    Prepare and file annual corporate tax returns in a timely and accurate manner. Taxes for 2023 are still to be filed.
    Provide expert advice on tax planning and strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance with the law.
    Review financial records, expense reports, and previous tax returns to recommend financial solutions and improvements.
    Assist in quarterly and yearly tax forecasting and planning.
    Keep abreast of current developments in tax regulations and legislation that may affect the company.
    Provide guidance on payroll, sales, and other business taxes.
    Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and assist in audits if necessary.
    Offer recommendations for more efficient tax management and potential areas for cost savings.

Requirements:

    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
    Proven experience in tax preparation and filing, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
    Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
    Proficiency with accounting software and tax preparation tools.
    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly convey tax strategies and implications to non-finance professionals.
    Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with tax issues specific to the health and wellness industry or similar industries.
    Familiarity with international taxation principles is a plus, considering the global operations of Herbal Goodness.
