Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Financial Officer to serve as the central point of contact with our financial and post-audit teams. This role will focus on validating, disputing, and processing all financial matters and assumptions with suppliers. You will play a critical role in resolving outstanding financial issues and ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

    Xero Qualification: Maintain and analyze budget worksheets in compliance with Australian Bookkeeping & Accounting Standards. Present budget analysis to the internal team, advising on potential over/under spends.
    Financial Statements: Prepare Quarterly BAS and company financial statements.
    Claims and Charge backs: Receive and manage claims and charge backs for customer credits against sales budgets. Validate claims, investigate charge backs, and gather necessary documentation.
    Spending Programs: Maintain a tracking mechanism for approved spending programs and collaborate with management to obtain necessary spending approvals.
    Financial Reporting: Report, analyze, and interpret complex financial and operating data, including sales, gross profit, costs of events, artist representations, art markets, purchasing and expense activity, and more.
    Monthly Closings: Manage monthly book closings, prepare period-end analyses and reports.
    Variance Analysis: Analyze significant variances from planned and prior period results and write explanatory commentaries.
    Accounting Reconciliations: Create and review monthly accounting reconciliations to ensure compliance with company policies.
    Cash Flow Reporting: Update daily cash flow reports, weekly projections, and weekly sales and cash receipts reports.
    Ad-Hoc Reports: Collaborate with Executives on ad-hoc reports, analyses, and projects.
    Budgeting: Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide analytical explanations of actual-to-budget variances.

Core Competency Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
    Experience: 4+ years of direct experience in accounting, finance, reporting, analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling, particularly for an Australian-based company.
    Knowledge: Deep understanding of full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and accounting principles.
